The Role
We are seeking an entry-level Analyst to join as a member of the Investment Team. The successful candidate will work closely on all facets of the investment process, while working collaboratively in supporting sourcing, fundraising, and other aspects of the firm on an as-needed basis. They will value the opportunity of joining a young, growing firm and being able to make their mark, while continuously learning and growing into successor roles.
Initial responsibilities include:
- Support deal team(s) in the investment due diligence process
- Assist in creating and maintaining financial models and other analytical tools to evaluate return profile, cash flow and liquidity, performance, downside risk for various investment opportunities
- Review and analysis of financial reporting for private equity funds and companies within various industries
- Assist in creating investment memorandums, presentations, etc. for investment opportunities, strategic initiatives, and fundraising
- Assist with the ongoing monitoring of private equity assets
- Help manage and review the work of intern(s)
- Generate attractive investment opportunities and supporting a variety of strategic initiatives, research, and corporate development activities
Over time, analysts will gain exposure to all aspects of the firm including sourcing investment opportunities, helping manage investor relationships and assisting in fundraising efforts.
What You'll Bring to The Role
- 1+ years of experience in Investment Banking and / or Private Equity
- Completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree from a leading college or university
- Ability to analyze financial statements, reports and complex legal agreements
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite
- Self-starter, ambitious and has a proven ability to learn quickly and perform in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with institutions / potential sellers
- Ability to execute against firm, often short-term, deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrated interest in private equity and investment management, financial analysis and valuation techniques
- Nice-to-have: working towards a CFA or CAIA designation
- Eligibility to work in Canada with no restrictions
Compensation
Compensation is competitive and comes with a semi-annual bonus and benefits.
