Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimating Manager to lead our construction estimating team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, managing bid processes, and collaborating with project teams to ensure competitive pricing and successful project acquisition. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in construction estimating, and proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid. The Estimating Manager will play a critical role in driving the company's growth by securing profitable projects through precise and strategic cost analysis.
Duties
- Lead and oversee the development of comprehensive construction estimates for a variety of projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Utilize Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating software to prepare detailed proposals, takeoffs, and cost analyses.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to gather pricing information and negotiate terms to optimize project budgets.
- Manage the bid process from initial inquiry through submission, ensuring deadlines are met with high-quality proposals.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop accurate pricing strategies.
- Review and validate subcontractor quotes and supplier bids for completeness and competitiveness.
- Implement best practices in project management and estimation processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and team members.
- Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and new estimating tools or techniques to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and cost control.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimation or project management software.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards, building codes, and industry regulations.
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail in cost analysis and pricing strategies.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and presenting estimates clearly.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred; relevant work experience is essential. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic estimating team within a growing organization committed to excellence in construction projects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
