Temporary Educational Assistant at Peace River High School . This position will commence on January 19, 2026 and continue until June 26, 2026. The successful candidate will be working 1-1, small group settings and classroom supoort for grade's 9-11.
Peace River High School is located in the town of Peace River, serving approximately 270 students in grades 9-12.
Peace River is a town in northwest Alberta. It is along the banks of the Peace River at its confluence with the Smoky River, the Heart River and Pat's Creek. It is approximately 486 kilometres northwest of Edmonton and 198 kilometres northeast of Grande Prairie on Highway 2. For more information on the town and what it has to offer, click .
Qualifications
- Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience and/or training working with student in school setting.
- Ability to work with children with varied ages, skills level, needs and abilities
Skills
- Willingness to be part of a learning team, take direction and follow programs without direct supervision.
- Willingness to attend training and professional development opportunities on individual learning and complex learning needs.
- Ability to be flexible to the changing classroom environment and individual child needs
- Ability to manage and organize programming and keep records.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers.

This is a union position under the collective agreement between the
Rate Of Pay
$22.59 to $28.02 per hour (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
