Facilities Summer Student

Primary Responsibilities:Assist with general facility maintenance on County owned buildings in accordance with O. Reg. 332/12: Building CodeProvide grounds maintenance, including flower beds and lawn care/maintenanceAssist with facility problem diagnosis and solutionsMaintain County vehicle, equipment and tools in good/safe working conditionMaintain detailed daily logsPerforms general cleaning and maintenance dutiesFrequent standing, walking, bending, and stoopingLift, handle and carry equipment, supplies, and materialsEnsure that Occupational Health and Safety practices and County of Perth policies and procedures are adhered to; wear any personal protective equipment required to ensure personal safety and report any known hazards and/or incidents in the workplace to immediate SupervisorOther duties as assigned
Qualifications:Class "G" driver's license with a clean driver abstractDemonstrated interest in facilities management or related fieldExperience performing general cleaning, painting, maintenance (indoor and outdoor) tasks effectively and efficientlyExperience following safety protocols and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety ActExcellent customer service skills Solid organizational and time management skillsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsReliable, punctual and the ability to work independently Working at heights and elevated work platform training is considered an asset Shift:Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm and Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (44 hours per week)
Hourly Rate:$18.73
