Duties

  • Assist the Occupational Therapists with carrying out treatment programs for clients.
  • Participate in facilitation of group therapy.
  • Facilitate treatment programs as directed by the occupational therapist
  • Prepare assessment and treatment materials.
  • Record and enter workload units in software.
  • Research and collect data for special projects.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of equipment and work areas.
  • Maintain medical records of treatment provided as required in EMR
  • Keep accurate records of and maintain all stock and non-stock supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement

Qualifications

  • Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant Diploma

Skills & Ability

  • Proficiency in medical terminology
  • Demonstrated knowledge in occupational therapy practices
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently and under supervision.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain successful working relationships; ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible and reassuring manner, tact, courtesy and alertness in public contacts.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated behaviour consistent with the hospital's mission statement and core values.
