As part of the Capital Markets Operations team, the
Consultant, Global Settlements
will provide consultative advice relative to the development, analysis and identification of process changes and system enhancements. In this capacity you will regularly participate in the documentation of existing processes and system flows; recommend enhancements to processes, job functions and systems; evaluate options; communicate benefits; and assist with project delivery timelines. In addition, you will collaborate internally with our respective operations officers, to train and support them in daily activities, including, but not limited to, settlement, funding, reconciliation with the goal of creating succession planning and enhancing the end-to-end knowledge of the team. You must understand numerous complex products, associated trade events (including accounting activities) and other related process flows. The role will require frequent professional engagement with clients, traders, regulators, senior leaders, and other support staff. The incumbent will proactively analyze and recommend enhancements to the existing business processes and clearly communicate rationale and negotiate solutions which will enhance operational effectiveness.

How You'll Succeed

  • Attention to detail & Analytical Skills - Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring that all client agreements and trade commitments are adhered to. All trading activity is fully balanced and settled by specified SLAs without errors or breaks. Regularly participate in research and analysis of discrepancies between internal records, custodians and counterparties.
  • Relationship Building - Required to respond to client's inquires and requests, providing professional high quality customer service for the assigned portfolio to ensure client satisfaction. You will liaise and interact with clients as part of the daily management of your portfolio.
  • Problem Solving - Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating and resolving organizational, operational or process problems. Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.
  • Operational Functions - Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements. Seeks efficiencies in operational functions wherever possible. Experience with Euroclear, Clearstream, DTC, CDS, Arrow, Broadridge (ADP), etc
  • Effective Communication - Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours, tools and techniques. Communicates well downward, upward, and outward.
