About Us:
Van-Kam Freightways Ltd. (Van Kam) is one of the largest regional carriers in Western Canada specializing in less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation. With 8 terminal locations across British Columbia, we fulfill shipments to communities within 1-3 days throughout BC and Alberta. Between our own resources and our partner network, our coverage extends beyond Western Canada into the U.S. and Eastern Canada.

Shift Timing: Tuesday to Saturday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

What You'll Do:

  • Safely operate and maintain the Van Kam Washer Truck, including performing routine maintenance such as oil changes, minor repairs, and replenishing washing supplies.
  • Perform manual pressure washing and scrubbing of trucks and trailers, including interior trailer washouts as required.
  • Carry out building and yard cleaning responsibilities, including pressure washing dock bays, cleaning shop equipment, and managing spills.
  • Maintain a detailed checklist of completed cleaning duties, including both assigned and ad hoc tasks.
  • Operate the Van Kam Washer Truck equipped with a snow plow during winter conditions.
  • Shovel snow and apply salt to steps, walkways, and other designated areas as required.
  • Operate a Van Kam pickup truck to transport parts or drivers as needed.
  • Assist on the dock or other operational areas when washing or yard duties are completed.

What You Have:

  • Physically capable of washing and scrubbing trucks and trailers for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing, with the ability to operate the Van Kam Washer Truck safely.
  • Mechanical aptitude to operate the wash truck and handle cleaning products, including soaps and acids.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong work ethic, dedication, and pride in completing tasks to a high standard.
