Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for caring, nurturing, supervision and safety of children
  • Plans, organizes, and implements activities and special events for the program.
  • Oversees daily program operations by ensuring facilities and equipment are available, policies and guidelines are followed, and all standards and licensing requirements are met.
  • Provides recommendations to the supervisor regarding program development, policy and procedure updates, and program evaluation.
  • Ensure Agency Policies and Procedures, program standards, WCB standards, Community Care Licensing regulations, risk management requirements and general facility safety standards are met
  • Collaborates with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate services, facilitate referrals, and represent the organization or program at external meetings and events.
  • Monitors and authorizes program expenditures, maintains accurate financial records, and contributes to budget preparation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintains program records and statistical data and prepares reports as required

Qualifications:

  • A diploma, certificate and/or relevant experience working with children in recreation, education or other social services.
  • Current First Aid certificate and Food Safe (or willingness to obtain)
  • Successful completion of Agency screening process, including criminal record check
  • Class 4 Driver's Licence or willingness to obtain

Please Note:

  • This position is open to all applicants
  • This position requires union membership

Hours: Casual on call hours, Monday to Friday.

Rate of Pay: $22.60 per hour
