DarkVision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is looking for a talented Software Engineer to help develop our advanced ultrasonic imaging systems. You will be joining our software and hardware engineers to help update our existing platform and build out our next generation platform. If you are someone who enjoys tinkering with hardware and writing code to interface with sensors and electronics, this is the role for you
You should love writing modern C++ for Linux and C for bare metal micro controllers. You will also make significant contributions to our desktop Software as it pertains to controlling your embedded system features. Experience writing code and algorithms for power-sensitive applications is a bonus.
This role is on-site and is based out of DarkVision's head office in North Vancouver, BC, where employees enjoy full access to our facility amenities including a well-equipped gym, squash court, climbing wall, steam room, private showers, and more.
Our Team
You will be joining our software and hardware engineers to do complete "full-stack" development. From embedded systems to data processing to desktop applications to 3D rendering and cloud services, the Software team at DarkVision plays a central role in everything that happens with our award-winning ultrasound imaging solutions.
What You Will Do
- Work collaboratively as a member of the Software Team, partnering with Electrical and Mechanical Engineering disciplines.
- Work in an Agile project management environment.
- Design and build Ultrasonic image capture software in C++ on an embedded Linux platform and configuration features for our desktop application.
- Build microcontroller-based firmware features.
- Optimize embedded systems for performance and power usage.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- C++ 11/14 programming experience.
- Development experience over a full product cycle writing embedded system software in Linux.
- Experience with some form of low-level device programming.
- Bachelor of Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Familiarity with Yocto and cross-compilation toolchains for Linux
- Experience optimizing algorithms for performance and power consumption.
- Experience using a variety of hardware protocols and networking standards.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written.
General Salary Range
For this role, we anticipate paying $125,000 to $180,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
