The Clinical Manager reports to the Director, Mental Health and supports the Mental Health & Addictions Services portfolio. Within the leadership team, the Manager is responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operations of the clinical programs at Kirkwood Place (Oak Lodge, Nickel Lodge, and Wordplay Jeux de mots). The Manager provides organizational and system leadership for the overall coordination and program development for these services.

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum four (4) year Bachelor's Degree with a specialization within a health related field from an accredited university
  • Master's degree in business or a health related discipline is an asset
  • Current certificate of registration in good standing with an applicable regulatory college is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience working as a health professional in a health care environment
  • Minimum of two (2) years working in a leadership/supervisory role, preferably in a health care environment

Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical-reasoning, critical thinking skills, assessment, documentation, intervention and care planning skills
  • Superior leadership, communication, team building and creative problem solving skills
  • Excellent human resource management skills including recruitment, retention and motivation of staff
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and competencies in working with patients and care partners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent budgeting and financial management skills
  • Experience with change management and innovation
  • Proficient computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and patient information systems.
  • Knowledge of human resources/labour relation practices, relevant government legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act), and principles of management
  • Understanding of multiple regulated health professions and associated Acts
  • Familiarity with collective agreements, scheduling
  • Demonstrated time management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events required
  • Able to utilize a trauma informed approach in all interactions
  • Must demonstrate good attendance
  • Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.
