Operations and Maintenance Assistant

About the Role

We're looking for an organized Operations & Maintenance Assistant to provide essential support to the Operations Manager and Operations Coordinator. This is a hands-on role where your primary focus will be on supporting the day-to-day operations of the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations & Field Support

• Provide hands-on support across club operations to fill gaps as needed by Operations, Communications, and Office teams.
• Support ticket booth operations by ensuring supplies, equipment, and systems (heat, power, radios, POS, signage) are functional and stocked.
• Assist with trail, facility, and site upkeep including signage installation, brushing, log removal, and snow removal.
• Monitor and maintain Boulder and Frisby cabins, including power systems, firewood, and general readiness.
• Provide on-call support (up to two nights per week) for grooming or operational issues as required.
• Assist with events, special projects, and operational needs during peak periods.

2. Maintenance & Shop Operations Support

• Maintain an organized, functional shop and ensure tools, parts, fluids, and consumables are properly stocked.
• Perform basic maintenance on club equipment (e.g., oil changes, inspections, minor repairs).
• Track equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and service records for all club assets.
• Coordinate with contractors (mechanics, welders, snow removal, fuel delivery, garbage removal) for specialized or major repairs.
• Respond to and assist with remote breakdowns alongside the Operations team.
• Support grooming operations by monitoring fuel and fluid inventory and coordinating resupply.

3. Asset & Infrastructure Support

• Assist with electrical and heating system troubleshooting in booths, cabins, and club facilities.
• Maintain the Welcome Centre, shop, and water filtration system, including required testing and reporting.
• Support end-of-season shutdown by ensuring equipment readiness and documentation.

General Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain shop organization, inventory, and service records for all club equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on snowmobiles, grooming equipment, and vehicles.
• Order parts, fluids, and supplies through online portals and with suppliers.
• Coordinate contractor services and track completed work.
• Ensure ticket booths, cabins, and facilities are operational and properly equipped.
• Assist with trail work, site maintenance, and snow removal as needed.
• Support grooming, parking, and ticket booth staff with resources and troubleshooting.
• Maintain club assets (snowmobiles, side-by-side, pickup truck) used for operations.
• Assist with water system monitoring and sample submission as required.
• Other duties as reasonably required to support smooth club operations.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• Organized with good time management skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively; professional, respectful, and bondable.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Comfortable operating snowmobiles, ATVs, and work vehicles; snowcat experience is an asset.

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid Class 5 Driver's License (driver's abstract required).
• OFA Level 1 First Aid, AST 1, and chainsaw experience are assets.

Job Type: Seasonal

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

• Operations: 1 year (preferred)
• Maintenance: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Class 5 Driver's License (preferred)
• First Aid Certification (preferred)
• AST 1 (preferred)
