Job Title: Alternative Investment Fundraiser

Location: Remote In Canada

Department: Investor Relations

Reports To: SVP, Investment Sales

Compensation: starting at $130,000 total with base and commission

Position Summary

The
Alternative Investment Fundraiser
is responsible for identifying, engaging, and developing relationships with high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), family offices, and institutional investors to raise capital for alternative investment products, such as private equity, real estate, private credit, and hedge funds. This role combines financial acumen, sales expertise, and relationship management to support the firm's growth objectives in the alternative investment space.

Key Responsibilities

·       Develop and execute fundraising strategies to attract new investors for the firm's alternative investment offerings.

·       Build and maintain strong relationships with HNWIs, family offices, financial advisors, and institutional investors across Canada.

·       Present investment opportunities, fund performance, and market outlook in a professional and compliant manner.

·       Collaborate with internal teams, including portfolio management, compliance, and marketing, to ensure alignment on investment messaging and investor materials.

·       Conduct market research to identify new fundraising channels and potential investor segments.

·       Attend networking events, conferences, and investor meetings to promote the firm's investment products.

·       Prepare and deliver investor reports, presentations, and marketing collateral as required.

·       Ensure all fundraising activities comply with IIROC, OSC, and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related
  • 5+ years of experience in investment fundraising, capital raising, or investor relations, preferably within private markets or alternative investments.
  • Proven track record of raising capital from HNWIs and institutional investors.
  • Strong understanding of private markets, investment structures, and securities regulations in Canada.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Securities licensing (e.g., Exempt Market Dealer registration, CSC, or equivalent) is a strong asset.
