Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, assist with patient care, and ensure smooth pharmacy operations. Prior hospital or pharmacy technician experience is preferred, along with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures.

Duties

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
  • Manage inventory by restocking supplies and medications, ensuring proper storage conditions
  • Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and offering guidance on over-the-counter products when appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and patient interactions in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and documentation related to prescriptions and patient information
  • Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to safety standards and cleanliness protocols
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care activities and medication management

Skills

  • Prior experience in a hospital or pharmacy setting is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in prescription processing and record keeping
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
  • Basic computer skills for managing pharmacy software systems
