Badminton Coach

Job Description

We are seeking a Badminton Coach to teach children in a school-based youth badminton program. This role focuses on introducing students to the fundamentals of badminton in a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment.

The program emphasizes skills development, physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach basic badminton skills, including grip, footwork, serving, and simple strokes
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons for children
• Lead warm-up, coordination, and light fitness activities
• Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
• Encourage good sportsmanship, teamwork, and confidence
• Follow school policies and program guidelines
• Communicate professionally with the program coordinator and staff

Qualifications & Requirements

• Background in badminton (coaching or competitive playing experience preferred)
• Experience working with children or youth is strongly preferred
• Ability to teach beginner-level skills clearly and patiently
• Responsible, reliable, and professional attitude
• Comfortable teaching in a school environment
• Valid background check (or willingness to obtain one)
• First Aid / CPR certification is an asset

Schedule & Location

• Part-time / contract-based position
• Weekday or after-school hours (schedule to be confirmed)
• Location: Oshawa (school-based program)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 3 per week

Work Location: In person
