We are hiring for a Department Manager, Meat at our Austin Save-On-Foods location in Coquitlam, BC.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the successful applicant must have open availability.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the department, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.
- Ensuring the department executes and achieves operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.
- Engaging and retaining team members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning.
- Communicating key messages and business objectives to team members in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Supporting the management team in reviewing and analyzing income statements and identifying opportunities to improve performance within the department.
- Reviewing and interpreting department financial reports and presenting KPIs to the management team.
- Analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department.
- Assisting the management team with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
- Leading inventory counts/period end of the department and resolving issues as required.
- Performing all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods of time, and working in hot/cold environments.
You have:
- 1-3 years of retail experience.
- Leadership experience is an asset.
- Food Safe Certification.
- A post-secondary education in a business related field is an asset.
- Experience and/or knowledge with:
- Achieving sales targets and profitability.
- Executing merchandising plans and creating in-store displays to drive sales.
- Human Resources (e.g. training, development, coaching and mentoring).
- Employee Relations and knowledge of the collective agreement (if applicable).
- Scheduling.
- Proficiency with computer applications.
