What you'll do
- Prepare financial statements and working papers for operating and investment companies, under the guidance of senior staff.
- Prepare and assist with personal and corporate tax returns (T1, T2); exposure to trust (T3) and partnership (T5013) filings is an asset.
- Perform bookkeeping tasks, bank reconciliations, and A/R and A/P processing.
- Prepare and support compliance reporting (GST/QST, payroll remittances).
- Assist in preparing and documenting audit-ready working papers.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, government agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Review your own work for accuracy and support junior team members with advice and on-the-job coaching when needed.
- Use accounting software effectively (e.g., Sage 50, QuickBooks, Write-Up, CaseWare, TaxPrep) and the Microsoft Office suite.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting) or a college diploma in Accounting.
- 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience (bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, financial statements and tax preparation).
- Practical experience with payroll and GST/QST is preferred.
- Comfortable using accounting software and strong Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Prior experience reviewing or supervising the work of others is a plus.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
