Position Purpose:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Career and Employment, the Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, evaluating and implementing a variety of activities related to the Telfer Career Centre career development programs and microprograms, and of ensuring the quality of student engagement and experience. Under the leadership of the Supervisor, Career Programs and Coaching, the Career Programs Coordinator plans, coordinates, and executes on all aspects of an assigned project, working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders . Executes operational activities, supports data-driven decision-making, and maintains communication platforms and strategies.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Program Coordination: Supports the career development programs' and microprograms' objectives and priorities, timelines, activities and events, deliverables, and resource/budget requirements  (e.g.: career centre program administration, logistics and communication to program participants) by performing a variety of coordination of activities.

  • Program Operational Support: Provides logistical support for program activities. Assesses the programs' requirements in terms of technology, communication, marketing, and student and employer engagement mechanisms and provides advice to management on approaches. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support the programs' needs. Supports with the collection of data on the programs' performance.

  • Project Evaluation: Maintains accurate records in the Career Centre's information systems for key historical data, program metrics, and reporting. Collects and analyzes participant and stakeholder feedback and program data to measure outcomes and recommend enhancements.  Contributes to annual reporting, program reviews, and strategic planning processes.

  • Community Engagement: Develops cooperative relationships and partnerships with internal and external service providers and community stakeholders to facilitate a range of activities in support of assigned projects and initiatives. Attends program activities to understand needs and assess appropriate changes. Sources and maintains the School's online career development software to facilitate work integrated learning activities (including, but not limited to, community service learning). Acts as the subject matter expert on the Career Centre information systems and advises management on the expansion/enhancements of the platform.

  • Relationship coordination: Coordinates a variety of service contracts to ensure the successful completion of program activities, many of which are directed towards enhancing student and employer experience. Manages and maintains existing relationships with external partners in relation to their participation in career development program activities. Exercises a high level of diplomacy and discretion in all interactions.

What you will bring:

  • University degree in a relevant field (a management program is considered an asset); an equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar role may also be considered.

  • Minimum of three years of related experience in project or program management.

  • Knowledge of the University's policies, guidelines, and regulations regarding events.

  • Effective problem-solving, communication and presentation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a diverse clientele and ability to communicate with respect, tact and discretion.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Excellent analytical, time management skills.

  • Ability to develop key performance indicators.

  • Demonstrated ability in all stages of the project processes, including initiating, planning, and executing 

  • Experience in program evaluation and/ or research with demonstrated skills in qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and knowledge dissemination.

  • Ability to work outside normal working hours at peak times (have flexible hours)

  • Bilingualism – French and English (oral and written) essential
