About the opportunity:

With oversight of both internal and external communications, Lactalis Canada's Corporate Communications team plays a key role in shaping the company's voice and reputation. As a Corporate Communications Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a wide range of areas including employee engagement, event management, multimedia content creation, social media, media relations, community relations and strategic storytelling. This internship offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally and build your portfolio with real-world communications projects while receiving mentorship from various members of the team.

The attributes we are looking for:

  • Content Development
    : Draft, edit, and proofread communications materials, including announcements, social media posts, press releases, and presentations.
  • Digital Library:
    Manage a new project including the organization, tagging and categorization of assets within a new Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) to improve searchability and user access.
  • Internal Communications:
    Assist with employee communications including drafting content and managing Lactalis Canada's internal communications platforms (Viva Engage and digital screens).
  • Media & Public Relations Support:
    Monitor media coverage, compile media reports and briefing documents.
  • Event Support
    : Assist in planning and execution of corporate events, town halls, and employee engagement activities including the upcoming Leadership Exchange.
  • Digital & Social Media
    : Help monitor, track, and create content for corporate social media channels, ensuring alignment with brand voice and messaging.
  • Administrative Support:
    Provide day-to-day assistance to the Corporate Communications team on various projects and reporting needs.

What you will bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a program in Communications, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Strong oral, writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and digital communications trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Canva and ability to quickly learn new tools (e.g. DAMS, Viva Engage)
  • Collaborative, creative, and proactive team player.
  • Professional, adaptable with ability to manage multiple priorities in order to meet deadlines and get the job done.
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team player
