Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Snow Plow Operator to efficiently clear snow and ice from designated roadways, parking lots, and walkways during winter months. This position requires a dedicated individual capable of operating heavy machinery with mechanical knowledge and attention to safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in landscape maintenance, construction, or related fields, and possess the necessary skills to ensure safe and accessible pathways in all weather conditions.
Duties
- Operate snow plow trucks and related equipment to remove snow and ice from roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other surfaces.
- Perform routine maintenance on plowing equipment, including inspection, lubrication, and minor repairs using hand tools and power tools.
- Assist with landscaping tasks such as irrigation, gardening, or horticulture as needed during off-season periods.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain safety standards by inspecting work areas for hazards and ensuring proper use of safety gear.
- Clear debris or other obstructions that may hinder snow removal operations.
- Document completed work and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
Experience
- Prior experience operating excavators, heavy machinery, or similar construction equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance, irrigation systems, gardening, horticulture, or general construction is advantageous.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for maintenance or minor repairs.
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to snow removal operations and machinery use.
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance or construction fields will be considered a plus.
