Grand Toyota is looking for a seasonal Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician to join our team

You will utilize your experience as a journeyperson technician to ensure that our customers maximize the safety and lifespan of their vehicles. You must have a passion for excellence in automotive service and enjoy leading a qualified automotive service team, especially during peak seasons when we are very busy.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform diagnostics and resulting adjustments, service, and repairs required.
  • Perform standard operating procedures to complete scheduled maintenance.
  • Document service completed showing "condition, cause and remedy".
  • Document additional needed repairs, advice to customers, and action taken.
  • Advise customers on completed work, general vehicle condition, and future repair requirements.
  • Dispose of fluids and chemicals in accordance with health and safety and WHMIS guidelines.
  • Maintain an inventory of standard automotive technician tools in good working order.
  • Coordinate with service manager as required.
  • Be a leader and a motivator for the automotive shop team, and especially for apprentice technicians.

Opportunities for Ongoing Training:

  • You may be required to attend training courses as directed by the Service Manager.
  • You will take time to review all service bulletins and technical publications as a leader in the shop.

What You Bring:

  • You are a skilled automotive technician holding a valid Journeyperson Certificate (Red Seal Certified).
  • Team oriented with ability to lead by example and work closely with all members of the service team.
  • Possess excellent communication skills to work with shop foreman and Service Manager.
  • Must be well organized and systematic in all aspects of the service process.
  • Possess a good work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
