About the Opportunity

Our client is a large capital markets firm seeking a
Production Support Specialist
to join their Technical Operations team with a focus on
Sell-Side OMS support
. This individual will play a critical role in supporting day-to-day production stability, managing FIX connectivity, and working with trading technology teams to ensure smooth trade execution across electronic equities platforms. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on OMS/FIX experience who thrives in fast-paced trading environments and is looking for long-term ownership and leadership growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day
    production support
    for a large
    Sell-Side Order Management System (OMS)
    , ensuring platform uptime, performance, and issue resolution.
  • Troubleshoot and manage
    FIX protocol sessions
    , including message-level analysis, tag validation, session connectivity, resets, and configuration updates.
  • Support client onboarding activities and assist in operational readiness for new connectivity and trading flows.
  • Investigate & resolve real-time trade flow and order routing issues related to equities execution.
  • Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and business stakeholders for patch deployments, system rollouts, and post-release validations.
  • Execute and support
    CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
    for restarts, deployments, and release automation.
  • Work within
    Linux environments
    to analyze logs, monitor systems, and diagnose production issues.
  • Participate in
    business continuity / disaster recovery exercises
    and contribute to platform hardening and compliance readiness.
  • Support both existing vendor OMS platforms as well as the transition to a new
    proprietary internal Sell-Side OMS
    currently being built.
  • Opportunity to eventually anchor and
    build out a support team
    around this function as the new platform migrates and scales.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–10+ years of
    Production Support or Application Support
    experience in a capital markets environment.
  • Strong hands-on background supporting
    Sell-Side OMS platforms
    (e.g.,
    Fidessa, FlexTrade, TRAFiX, Broadridge
    , or similar).
  • Deep knowledge of
    FIX Protocol
    : connectivity, troubleshooting sequence mismatches, rejects, message tags, configs, and resets.
  • Solid understanding of
    equities trading workflows
    , order lifecycle, and market structure.
  • Proficiency with
    Linux
    for log analysis and system-level investigations.
  • Experience with
    CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
    for deployments or job execution.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting directly with traders, technology teams, and external vendors.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to or support for
    equity algorithmic trading strategies
    (not required but valued).
  • Experience with proprietary OMS platforms or migration projects.
  • Prior involvement in client onboarding or certification testing for FIX connectivity.
