Automotive Service Technician Apprentice

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostics, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves performing repairs, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. Experience with dealership operations, welding, and mechanical systems is highly preferred. The Automotive Technician plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service by providing reliable and timely vehicle repairs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair a variety of automotive issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and hand tools
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements
• Utilize power tools and welding equipment for repairs and assembly tasks
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides to accurately identify problems
• Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards
• Assist with vehicle assembly and disassembly as needed for repairs or upgrades
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety protocols
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and completing work efficiently

Requirements

• Proven experience in automotive repair, preferably within a dealership setting
• Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics interpretation
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts replacement
• Previous mechanic experience with a focus on automotive diagnostics and maintenance
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills for customer interactions and team collaboration
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week
