Position Summary
 
Reporting to the Transport Team Leader, the Logistics and Transport Clerk is responsible for ensuring the clerical aspect of the transport department by assuming responsibility for OPs and reception.
 
Job Responsibilities

Prepare the documents necessary for the transportation of orders;
Organize daily transportation appointments;
Ensure collaboration and communication with the project team and customers to provide them with visibility on the status of shipments;
Provide administrative support to the Transportation Coordinator
Verify and manage delivery notes and work orders;
Classify various documents according to established procedures;
Shipment follow-ups with carriers (shipment statuses, proof of delivery).
Follow-ups and updates of shipments with customers (shipment statuses) by phone and email.
Opening, updating and closing of files in EPICOR.
Issuance of documents, notices and instructions to carriers on repetitive accounts.
Set up logistics in order to efficiently execute the necessary and required operations on file (e.g. requesting rates from our carriers for delivery of orders to a destination, planning to have the cargo picked up in a closed trailer, FlatBed, drop deck or other, contacting the recipient and doing our customer follow-ups).
Any other related tasks.
Making an appointment transporting renters
Receipt of incoming goods
PO invoices (transport + logistics expense)
Back up support at the warehouse (forklift operator as needed during point periods)
UPS Order Management
Perform cyclical counts as needed

Education and experience required

Proficiency in the Office suite
Excellent knowledge of transportation

Key skills required

Ability to effectively communicate ideas in a clear, concise and logical manner
Teamwork, mutual aid and initiative, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
