You will be a key driver of business development and project delivery, helping expand our Transportation Engineering practice across the province and nationally. We value individuals who combine their existing expertise with a willingness to develop new skills and contribute to innovative solutions that keep pace with industry trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and preparing winning proposals.
  • Deliver high-impact transportation projects, overseeing all phases from initiation to closeout, with a focus on quality, budget, and schedule.
  • Guide multidisciplinary project teams across traffic engineering, transportation planning, road safety, data analytics, and design (illumination, signals, etc.).
  • Engage in strategic planning and client management to align project outcomes with client and community goals.
  • Collaborate with other sectors within CIMA+ to support cross-disciplinary initiatives and corporate growth strategies.
  • Recruit and mentor junior staff, including students and EITs, to help develop the next generation of transportation professionals.

As a Mobility and Transportation Engineer at CIMA+, you will play an important role in driving the growth of our Transportation Engineering practice in BC. In collaboration with local and national leaders, your business development responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across public and private sectors, with a focus on provincial, regional, and municipal clients.
  • Building and nurturing long-term client relationships, working to understand their evolving transportation needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Producing proposal content, including crafting compelling technical approaches, coordinating subconsultant inputs, and ensuring alignment with client expectations and industry standards.
  • Conducting market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, funding opportunities, and strategic partnerships that align with CIMA+'s growth objectives.
  • Representing CIMA+ at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings, enhancing visibility and positioning the firm as a leader in mobility and transportation innovation.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to align business development efforts with corporate strategy, cross-sector initiatives, and regional priorities.
  • Mentoring junior staff in service delivery best practices, proposal preparation, and client engagement to build internal capacity and foster a culture of entrepreneurship.

  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or eligible to apply for the designation.
  • Minimum 7 years of consulting experience in transportation engineering, with a strong portfolio of project delivery and client engagement.
  • Proven experience working with BC public agencies responsible for transportation, transit and municipal infrastructure is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian and BC transportation standards, including TAC guidelines, provincial manuals, and municipal engineering requirements.
