Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Water & Wastewater Conveyance team in Burnaby, BC, at the heart of Metro Vancouver. This is your opportunity to grow your career in one of the most sought-after places to live in the world—where mountain views, ocean air, vibrant neighborhoods, and year-round outdoor adventure are part of everyday life.

Imagine starting your morning with a mountain trail run, ocean paddle, or café stop in a walkable neighbourhood—then leading impactful infrastructure projects that help protect waterways, support population growth, and build climate-resilient communities across British Columbia. From Burnaby, you're minutes from downtown Vancouver, the North Shore mountains, beaches, world-class dining, and an unmatched blend of urban energy and natural beauty.

In this role, you'll lead complex water and wastewater conveyance projects that truly matter—projects that safeguard public health and shape sustainable cities. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, partner directly with municipalities and regulators, and play a visible leadership role on some of the region's most significant infrastructure initiatives.

We're looking for an experienced, collaborative civil or municipal engineering professional who thrives on responsibility, values technical excellence, and wants their work to leave a lasting legacy—while enjoying a lifestyle that balances career ambition with quality of life.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design and project management of civil systems for municipal water, wastewater, and/or wastewater drainage conveyance and treatment facilities
  • Provide technical design leadership and coordinate with project teams, clients, and regulators
  • Prepare design documentation, technical reports, project specifications, and contract documents
  • Develop construction cost estimates and conduct constructability reviews
  • Support contract administration and perform site inspections during construction
  • Contribute to proposal development and project scoping
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering + 12 years of relevant experience in civil or municipal engineering
  • Experience in planning, design, construction inspection, and contract administration for municipal water/wastewater related projects
  • P.Eng with EGBC or the ability to obtain registration within 18 months

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years leading design and project management for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure
  • Strong experience in proposal writing and job scoping
  • Familiarity with BIM, CAD, and hydraulic modelling platforms
  • Contract Administration certification (MMCD, CCDC, etc.)
  • Excellent technical writing skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
