Our Alberta Reload Logistics division in Edmonton specializes in serving key customers by hauling a variety of commodities like, Polymer, Lumber, Pipe, Building Products, Over Dimensional Loads from various origin to destination locations across Western Canada. Approximately 90 employees report into Alberta Reload Logistics division including Company Drivers, Lease Operators, Broker/Contractor Trucks and Office staff.

Responsibilities
The Transportation Coordinator's primary role is to coordinate and oversee the routing and scheduling of our daily trucking services to meet customer requirements focusing on maximizing payload and productivity in a safe and effective manner. This role will be focusing on the coordination of the local city work and drayage.
Major Responsibilities
Assists with the planning, coordination and oversight of the routing and scheduling of drivers and equipment and assures compliance with time schedules and applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations.
Ensures the drivers have the proper instructions to perform their duties safely and listens to all driver concerns and acts on them appropriately
Ensures that schedules are carried out in an effective and efficient manner. Coordinates the daily assignment of company and contracted resources to maximize equipment productivity and payload while maintaining a high level of customer service
Makes necessary adjustments for road closures, overloads, lateness and related problems. Communicates regularly with the drivers to assist and manage implications caused by truck problems, lateness and accidents. Communicates with the customer to report compliance to daily targets as well as course of action should deviation to plans occur.
Communicates with the various supplier sites to exchange information, coordinate activities and resolve issues, concerns and questions regarding trucking services, customer site and/or driver issues
Follow all workplace safety policies and compliance regulations participate in identifying hazards
Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics
Continuously surveys the existing trucking program for safety and cost improvement opportunities and advises the manager of ways to improve current systems
Assists in the implementation of policy and process improvement.
Confers and coordinates with shop personnel as well as drivers regarding repairs and preventative maintenance schedules and timelines
Schedules and coordinates required driver training and orientation
Responsible for collecting and reviewing driver paperwork and ensuring it is complete, accurate, and timely
Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
Other duties as assigned by the manager
You Possess
2-4 years experience in transportation and/or relevant role/industry
Preference will be given to those with post-secondary Education
Strong organizational skills
Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills
Needs to be responsible, accountable and dependable
Demonstrates strong communication skills both verbally and written
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
Computer proficiency – Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Ability to learn new software applications
Demonstrates internal and external Customer Service excellence
Mechanical inclination is a valuable asset
