About the Opportunity

SteS is looking for
a full-time Housing Rebuild Project Manager
based onsite in
Chase, British Columbia
.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Administration, you will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering the construction phase of the community's housing rebuild, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with regulatory, funding, and community expectations.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of the post-wildfire housing rebuild, coordinating contractors and stakeholders, managing risk and quality, and supporting community members through the return-to-home process.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the full construction lifecycle of the 19-home rebuild from site readiness through project closeout
  • Coordinating contractors, trades, engineers, utilities, and vendors to ensure serviced, construction-ready lots
  • Managing schedules, budgets, contracts, change orders, and progress certifications in line with funding agreements
  • Ensuring compliance with BC Building Code, FireSmart standards, ISC Build Back Better guidelines, and procurement policies
  • Implementing quality assurance processes including inspections, deficiency tracking, and remediation
  • Conducting and documenting regular project and vendor meetings with clear action tracking and reporting
  • Identifying and mitigating construction risks related to timelines, supply chains, labour, and environmental conditions
  • Supporting homeowner walkthroughs, post-construction follow-up, and lessons-learned reviews for future initiatives

About You

To qualify, you will need
post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering
, or a related field, along with
3 to 5 years of experience in residential or community-scale construction project management
.
An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience will be considered.

The following are
required:

  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
    and
    access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to undergo
    a Criminal Record Check
  • Ability to
    work onsite full-time and travel locally for site visits, inspections, and meetings
  • Willingness to
    work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekend
    s, to meet construction timelines

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience managing residential rebuilds, ideally in post-disaster or community-based settings
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, permitting processes, and building codes
  • Demonstrated contract administration experience, including CCDC2 standards, change orders, and progress certifications
  • Proficiency in project scheduling, risk management, and quality assurance processes
  • Experience coordinating contractors, trades, engineers, utilities, and government stakeholders
  • Ability to prepare clear construction progress reports for leadership and funding partners
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and construction or project management software
  • PMP or equivalent project management designation considered (asset)
