The Global Sourcing and Contract Management (GSCM) team creates value from OpenText's supplier relationships and ensures our business unit stakeholders have the goods and services needed to succeed.
Your Impact
The Senior Sourcing Manager will play a key role in managing a complex portfolio of spend including HR, Corporate Professional Services (CPS), Facilities etc. You will provide leadership to the team as well as influence category strategies to address internal business needs. Key accountabilities include stakeholder relationship management; developing and executing sourcing strategies and programs aligning with strategic objectives; enhancing supplier relationships; ensuring commitments are fulfilled to meet internal client's needs; presenting recommendations to and collaborating with senior management and business unit executives.
You will deliver projects in all aspects of the sourcing process, from category assessment, cost savings opportunities, vendor due diligence, RFx process, contract negotiations, and vendor management.
In this position, you will get a broad understanding of OpenText's overall business and will provide great visibility and understanding across the organization.
What The Role Offers
- Building and enhancing relationships with key stakeholders to meet their requirements
- Developing and implementing category management plans and sourcing strategies to create value and increase supplier performance.
- Providing expertise and guidance to business stakeholders from a sourcing perspective to support and facilitate informed decision making.
- Leading a cross-functional teams through major sourcing initiatives.
- Ensuring all sourcing initiatives include requirements globally to maximize OpenText's purchasing power and leverage.
- Leading planning & execution of the RFx process.
- Developing rigorous, fact-based analyses that drives creative problem solving, proposal assessment and negotiation
- Managing the supplier selection process and providing analytics to ensure informed decisions.
- Leading commercial negotiations and delivering results that help create exceptional value to the organization
- Managing and optimizing supplier performance, including contract compliance, continuous improvements, innovation, and reducing the total cost of ownership.
- Participating in financial planning and budget development and execution, detailing expected sourcing activity and results for assigned categories.
- Supporting acquisition/ divestiture activities from a vendor contract purposes
- Benchmarking and identifying key industry trends, which impact the assigned spend categories.
- Developing a network of both internal and external peer relationships and affiliation to related professional organizations.
- Maintaining sound knowledge of industry dynamics, supplier business and pricing models within the category.
What You Need To Succeed
- High degree of business ethics and accountability
- Deep expertise in Category management, Strategic Sourcing, senior stakeholder relationship building and spend analytics in a variety of spend categories
- Business consulting experience
- Subject Matter Expertise in Category Management and Strategic Sourcing, including deep understanding of best practices, creation and execution of category sourcing strategies
- Broad-based knowledge related to categories such as HR (Benefits, Payroll), CPS (Consulting), Facilities (maintenance, construction, security, equipment leases) etc.
- Detail oriented without losing sight of the big picture
- Strong negotiation and influencing abilities
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Power point, knowledge of accounting/workflow/ procure to pay systems
- Divestiture / Post-merger and acquisition integration experience considered an asset
- 10 years of Category Management and Strategic Sourcing experience, previous program or project management experience as well as strong knowledge of business processes, internal controls, and improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor degree in Business/Commerce, MBA, LLB, Engineering or Supply Chain management
- Professional designation in Supply Chain Management (PMAC SCMP / CPP, ISM
- Willingness to complete these designations as a part of career development
