Building Operator

In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring building systems operate smoothly and safely. You'll handle maintenance tasks, troubleshoot issues, and work closely with a supportive team to keep facilities running at their best. You will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing building operations. 4th or 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate is required for this role, as you'll be working directly with building systems to ensure safe, efficient, and effective performance. What you'll do:

• Operate and maintain building systems – including HVAC, boilers, chillers, plumbing, and electrical systems – to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance.
• Troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively, keeping facilities running smoothly and minimizing downtime.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs across multiple properties.
• Ensure compliance and safety – follow regulations, building codes, and company policies to maintain a safe environment for all occupants.
• Collaborate with teams – work closely with other operators, caretakers, and supervisors while supporting various site needs.
• Travel between sites – a valid driver's license is required as you'll gain variety and experience across different locations.
• Respond to tenant service requests and emergencies in a timely manner

What are we looking for?

• 4th or 5th Class Power Engineering certificate required
• Minimum two years of building operating experience
• Knowledge of building HVAC, plumbing, electrical, building automation systems and life safety systems
• Exceptional communications, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
• Able to easily adopt new technology and innovative business solutions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Exposure to Office 365 and Power BI; an asset
