Who we are

Who we need

Reporting to the Finance Manager, we are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. As the new Senior Financial Analyst,  you will be responsible for preparing financial reports and providing analysis of the income statement, balance sheet, and other critical financial information and metrics. You will work closely with senior management to help make critical operating decisions, diving in to understand and analyze the details. You will play a key role in the quarter-end close process, ensuring that the group meets its deadlines and deliverables.

This is a hybrid role, working at least one day per week at our Oakville headquarters.

Who you are

You may be coming from an accounting firm and want to get into the software industry. Or, you may be coming from a different industry and want the opportunity to be part of a company where you can help them build out processes as they scale. You want a senior position where you can draw on your extensive business acumen, analytical experience, financial reporting expertise, and accounting know-how. You are both strategic and innovative in your problem-solving, and you step up in the face of adversity and challenges.

What's in it for you

Impact. You are looking for an opportunity to create, optimize and automate financial reporting and analysis processes at a scaling company. You will be supported by a manager who recently held this role as you learn our business and financial function. You want to work at a place collectively committed to raising the bar of what is possible, as you continue to grow your exposure, impact, and breadth of knowledge.

How you will make an impact:

Prepare financial reporting. You will prepare monthly and quarterly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports for senior management and provide value-added analysis and commentary on P&L performance. You will analyze financial data, considering key performance metrics, benchmarking, and trend analysis. Additionally, you will consolidate results and disclosures for management and our parent company.Collaborate. During interim reviews and year-end audits, you will work seamlessly with head office and internal and external auditors to gather and present accurate supporting documents. You will take on ad-hoc financial reporting, such as target subject deep dives, provide meaningful insights and define key risk or improvement areas. You will advise or establish improved reporting and accounting processes within the group.Support and execute processes. You will provide financial support and analyses for operational objectives. You will establish and enforce relevant financial policies and procedures to assist with the cost analysis process and financial and cash flow forecasting.

You will bring:

The experience. You are passionate about financial reporting, managing the details and analyzing the data. You have gained in-depth knowledge of accounting policies, practices and applications under IFRS. You may have exposure to auditing. You can follow processes and identify opportunities to optimize them for scalability. You thrive in an independent role while collaborating within and across teams. Ideally, you have or are pursuing your CPA.The technical skills. You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You are highly organized, able to balance competing priorities, adjusting proactively and rapidly responding to changes. You have advanced skills in MS Office Excel. You may have exposure to an ERP such as Great Plains, or you can quickly come up to speed. The interpersonal skills. You have professional written and verbal communication skills. You can build trusting and influential relationships at any level. You have a deep appreciation for diverse experiences and approaches. German or Spanish as a second language would be a bonus.
