Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks over long distances to ensure timely delivery of freight across various locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, with the ability to handle the physical demands of the job and operate various types of equipment.

Duties

  • Safely operate commercial trucks for long-distance freight transportation, adhering to all federal and state regulations.
  • Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and other required records.
  • Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit.
  • Assist with warehouse operations including freight movement and inventory management as required.

Skills

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and other loading machinery.
  • Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols for long-haul transportation.
  • Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues on the road.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment requiring dedication, safety awareness, and technical proficiency in freight transportation and heavy equipment operation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
