POSITION SUMMARY: Curtis Powerworks Inc. is a Utility line construction company with an exciting opportunity for a Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician/ Shop Foreman to join our team and to learn and grow in the utility trade. A successful candidate will work with a small team of mechanics keeping on a modern fleet of bucket trucks, excavators, pole trucks, tractor trucks, track machines and other various equipment running for the utility industry. You will be responsible for strictly our own fleet. No public work. The right candidate will receive manufacturers training on certain equipment when needed. The candidate must be a self motivated team player willing to train and help apprentices along the way.

DUTIES:

-Equipment inspections

-Diagnostics

-Repairs

-Services

-Minor fabrication

-Parts orders

-Team management

  • Monitor inventory levels and replenishing supplies as needed
  • Perform administrative tasks such as updating and filing equipment orders, stock receipts etc.
  • Oversees daily work of other mechanics
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills
  • Possesses solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Red Seal certificate as a heavy-duty equipment technician;
  • 5 years of Journeyman Experience considered an asset
  • Must be able to navigate the fleet management program
  • Familiar with using computers for diagnostics
  • 5-day work week/10-hour days
  • Must be available to do emergency work/repairs if needed

Wage: Based on experience.
