About The Position

Reporting to the Transportation Manager the transportation planner is responsible for arranging and procuring transportation of all inbound, outbound, direct and stock transfer orders. If you are looking for an exciting role in a team orientated environment this is the job for you

What You'll Do:

  • Manages a portfolio of carriers to arrange the transportation of all inbound, outbound, direct, or stock transfer orders.
  • Responsible for safe, efficient, legal & economical operation of all transportation activities.
  • Responsible for meeting customer delivery requirements in a cost-effective manner.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (vendors, carriers) to communicate requirements.
  • Use and maintain SAP Transportation Management System (TMS) to optimize common carrier freight orders.
  • Work with local plants on capacity planning and special requirements.
  • Support EHS & Sales regarding compliance, health, safety and environmental affairs.
  • Assist internal stakeholders on corrective actions related to missed deliveries, incidents and capacity, determining root cause and establishing preventative actions.
  • Reconcile freight expense variances.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Post-secondary degree or College Diploma with 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Able to work independently, manage priorities, and take on new tasks
  • Proficiency in MS office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Familiarity with SAP system is considered a strong asset

Pay and Benefits:

The annual expected salary range for this position is $68,000 – $82,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
