Job Summary

We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires keen observation skills, the ability to respond effectively to emergencies, and a commitment to upholding safety protocols. The Security Guard will monitor premises through surveillance systems and perform regular patrols to deter and detect any suspicious activities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access points to ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
• Conduct regular patrols of the facility to deter theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities.
• Utilize CCTV systems to observe and report any unusual behavior or incidents.
• Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as necessary.
• Prepare detailed incident reports documenting any security breaches or unusual occurrences.
• Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures.
• Maintain a visible presence on-site to promote safety and security awareness among employees and visitors.
• Collaborate with management to develop and enforce security policies and procedures.

Experience

• Previous experience in law enforcement or security roles is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems, surveillance techniques, and loss prevention strategies is highly desirable.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert and focused during long shifts.
• Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with staff, clients, and law enforcement personnel.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and make quick decisions when necessary.

Must speak, read, and write English .

Minimum requirements:

• Must hold a valid Security Licence and have a MINIMUM of 1 YEAR EXPERIENCE
• Must hold a valid Ontario Security License and First Aid Certificate
• Must be available for various shifts: Mornings, Evenings, and Continental Rotations.
• Minimum one year of security guard, events security, commercial, and customer service experience is REQUIRED.
• Demonstrated initiative and success through past assignments and duties.
• Ability to achieve excellent customer service to clients, tenants, and guests.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of computer application skills.
• Enthusiastic about working as part of a responsible and capable team
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Possesses a high level of integrity and credibility.
• Good knowledge of Health and Safety practices.
• Willing to conduct routine interior and exterior foot patrols of the facility grounds.
• Ability to work effectively and handle multiple situations simultaneously while providing quality service.
• Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Security services,

• Effective communication and conflict resolution.
• Ensuring property rules and regulations are followed and maintained.
• Provide support to Property Management and all tenants and visitors as required.
• Professional attitude towards any required training, handling emergencies, and effective communications. Liaison with local police where needed.
• Assists tenants and visitors in a branded, friendly, proactive, and efficient manner with appropriate follow-up, as necessary.
• Provide services requested by the client, such as contract escort, tenant, and visitor escort
• Ability to monitor the Fire Panel, Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Access Control Systems, and Alarms.
• Read, respond, and manage all security email inboxes through the provided software.
• Enforce client's rules, provincial laws, and regulations.
• Perform assigned property patrols and ensure that fire extinguishers and fire hoses are accessible
• Follow up with daily documentation in your memo book notes and incident reports as required.
• Use of the provided software program for communication with residents, board members, and the security team.
• Opening and lock up of multiple buildings, according to a daily schedule.
• Conducting interior and exterior patrol of the property, including parking lots, mechanical rooms

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
