Job Summary

As an AZ Drive you will be responsible for driving commercial vehicle that requires an AZ license. This includes operating various types of commercial trucks while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. You will also perform pre-trip inspections, repot any vehicle malfunctions or accidents to management and ensure that our linen is secured, transported, and delivered to our customers at the hospitals and health care facilities.

Schedule(s)

  • This means your schedule will vary each week to support your team with vacation coverage, medical leaves, absences and unforeseen production demands
  • Schedules could run on days, afternoon or midnights
  • Shift could be 8 hours (5 days a week) or 10 hours (4 days a week)
  • Weekends will be required

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and drive commercial vehicles (straight truck or tractor trailer) on public roads and highways
  • Follow applicable federal/provincial/municipal regulation
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any issues to the appropriate personnel
  • Secure the cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transport
  • Load and unload cargo, primarily linen carts
  • Communicate effectively with LHLS transportation team, customers, other drivers and other personnel as necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness and general maintenance of the vehicles, as required
  • Employees must follow the Hours-of-Service Regulations as set forth by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario. See Ontario Regulation 555/06 of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario

Qualifications

  • 3 years of driving experience and employment verification letter from previous employers
  • AZ License
  • Availability to work a changing schedule
  • Ability to load and unload linen carts
  • Ability to travel by foot throughout various hospitals and health care centers
  • A clear CVOR and Drivers Abstract
  • Professional references
  • Good communication
