About the role:

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Vancouver-based development team. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in backend development and system design, with deep experience in PHP (Laravel) and MySQL. You'll play a critical role in designing scalable services, building robust APIs, and ensuring high system reliability.

While this role is backend-focused, familiarity with Python

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable backend services using
  PHP (Laravel)

and
MySQL
- Develop clean, well-tested, and maintainable APIs
- Drive high-level architectural decisions and contribute to
system design

discussions
- Containerize services using
Docker

and manage environments with
Kubernetes
- Collaborate with front-end engineers and product teams to deliver full-feature solutions
- Conduct peer code reviews and mentor junior developers
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend performance and data flows
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing where appropriate

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in
  backend or full-stack development
• Deep expertise in
  PHP (Laravel)

and
relational databases (MySQL)
- Proven experience designing scalable systems and API architecture
- Strong grasp of
containerization

tools like Docker; familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus
- Experience with
version control
