The world relies on HPS to continually conceive and produce state-of-the-art transformer technology. We currently have an opening for a Engineering Co-op (Electrical ),come grow with us

The successful candidate will join us for the Winter, 2026 co-op term starting in January 2026.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Support with FEM Projects
  • Participate in Model Preparation and Setup
  • Assisting with creating or modifying models for simulation
  • Running FEA simulations using software
  • Contributing to data analysis and reporting
  • Learning to interpret simulation results to identify stress concentrations, deformation, or thermal hotspots
  • Coordination with manufacturing and test lab for testing and validation of prototypes for validation of simulations
  • Assist with technical report preparation and presentations for engineering teams
  • Working closely with senior engineers and mentors
  • Participating in team meetings and design reviews
  • Ensuring simulations and results are documented according to company standards
  • Learning and applying relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, CSA)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Understanding of electrical/mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Familiarity with FEM an asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technical applications
  • Capable of performing engineering calculations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
