Duties
- Safely operate trucks and heavy equipment to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and freight documentation.
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Follow all federal, state, and company safety regulations during operations.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and proper maintenance of trucks and related equipment.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL license.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and logistics coordination.
- Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and transportation.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts when necessary for loading/unloading freight.
- Physical ability to load, unload, lift, and move freight weighing up to 50 pounds or more as required. This position is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics services while maintaining safety and efficiency standards across all transportation activities.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $31.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 10 per week
