APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR A CASUAL MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION CLERK FOR THE COMMUNITIES OF BLACK LAKE, SK AND FOND DU LAC, SK

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Medical Transportation Clerk reports to the AHA Medical Transportation Coordinator and is responsible for the protection and security of medical records to ensure that patient/client confidentiality is maintained. The Medical Transportation Clerk arranges transportation, accommodations, and appointments for patients/clients, obtains necessary approvals from the Medical Transportation Coordinator, completes and approves transportation warrants, and maintains records of patients needing referrals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As required, update the Medical Transportation Coordinator.
  • Adhere to the AHA Medical Transportation Policies.
  • Participate in monthly teleconference calls.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
  • Compile and file medical charts, reports, and correspondence.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, surgeries, and medical consultations prior to requesting benefits from the Medical Transportation Call Centre or approving travel through the contribution agreement.
  • Submit requests for benefits to the Medical Transportation Call Centre.
  • Review vouchers received from the Medical Transportation Call Centre for accuracy and request corrections as required before providing them to the client.
  • Ensure that all clients are aware of the arrangements that have been made for them.
  • May cover regular hours for the supervisor and on-call shift rotation.
  • Perform various clerical and administrative functions.
  • Perform other related duties, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 10.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Fluency in the Denesuline language would be an asset.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
