Overview: The Underwriter will play a critical role in our financial company by evaluating and underwriting new and repeat financing applications. This position requires a meticulous approach to determining risk levels, rates, terms, and other conditions associated with financing applications. The Underwriter will also be responsible for maintaining industry compliance, managing client relationships, and ensuring the accuracy and clarity of the credit process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and underwrite new and repeat financing applications.
  • Assess and determine risk levels, rates, terms, and conditions for new and renewal applications.
  • Communicate with sales teams and other related parties regarding the status of applications and any additional requirements needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, management, clients, and the community.
  • Ensure that all underwriting processes and decisions comply with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of compliance requirements and changes in regulations.
  • Maintain and update the client database with accurate and current information.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of existing clientele to identify trends and potential risks.
  • Gather data on deals to enhance and streamline underwriting processes.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the credit box for better accuracy and clarity in underwriting decisions.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as required to support the underwriting team and the company's objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with industry compliance regulations and standards.
  • Experience with client relationship management and process improvement.
  • Proven experience in underwriting within the financial industry.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
