Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating various machining equipment. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Machinist will be responsible for producing high-quality components that meet strict specifications while adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Mills, lathes, and other precision machining equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and specifications.
- Repair hydraulic cylinders and drive shafts would be an asset.
- Maintain equipment, orders all supplies, and materials.
- Design and manufacture equipment and tools.
- Utilize power tools and measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in production.
- Must be well organized able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to operate all types of general machine shop machinery and tools.
- Assist all other trades in their various unique needs as it relates to machinist position
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Perform related work as required.
Requirements
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Machinist, not a necessity.
- Four years experience in machining and millwright trades.
- Experience with onsite portable line boring and welding would be an asset
- Proven experience as a Machinist with a solid understanding of machining processes and related trades
- Proficiency in blueprint and schematics reading and technical drawing interpretation.
- Knowledge of machinist equipment and all types of metals strength, physical properties and weld ability
- Basic knowledge of all trades as it relates to machinist position.
- Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions.
- Candidates must currently reside in Ontario and be legally eligible to work in Canada. This is an on-site position.
