Il s'agit d'une opportunité exceptionnelle pour un leader proactif et bilingue (français/anglais) possédant une solide connaissance des exigences opérationnelles liées à la gestion quotidienne d'une usine, afin de garantir la réalisation des objectifs en matière de productivité, de sécurité et de qualité.

Vos responsabilités :

  • Superviser et gérer tous les aspects des opérations de l'usine, y compris la production, la maintenance, les matériaux, la fabrication, le contrôle qualité et le service à la clientèle.
  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre des calendriers de production afin de répondre aux demandes des clients tout en optimisant l'utilisation des ressources.
  • Mettre en œuvre et surveiller les indicateurs clés de performance (KPI) sur les deux sites afin d'évaluer les performances de l'usine et d'apporter les améliorations nécessaires, tout en veillant à l'alignement avec les objectifs commerciaux.
  • Favoriser l'amélioration continue de l'efficacité, des coûts et des performances de livraison.
  • Soutenir la conformité aux exigences réglementaires, de sécurité et environnementales (OSHA, CNESST).
  • Développer les capacités de leadership au sein de l'équipe opérationnelle et garantir la responsabilité.
  • Embaucher, former et superviser les employés de l'usine, en favorisant un environnement de travail productif et sûr.
  • Mener des initiatives visant à améliorer l'engagement des employés.
  • Collaborer avec d'autres services tels que les équipes des opérations, de la production, des ressources humaines, de la qualité, de la chaîne d'approvisionnement et de l'ingénierie afin d'assurer l'alignement opérationnel, l'atténuation des risques et la gestion des processus pour les deux sites. Résoudre tout conflit pouvant survenir.

Votre profil :

  • Baccalauréat en génie mécanique, industriel ou de fabrication, ou dans un domaine technique connexe (maîtrise ou MBA, un atout).
  • Plus de 7 ans d'expérience dans des postes de direction dans le secteur manufacturier, de préférence dans l'industrie métallurgique et mécanique.
  • Expérience dans le secteur du CVC ou dans un secteur similaire impliquant des assemblages complexes.
  • Expérience avérée dans la gestion d'opérations multisites ou de grandes équipes de production.
  • Expérience solide dans la gestion des opérations, des matériaux et des processus.
  • Expérience des processus de fabrication tels que le soudage, l'assemblage, le vide et la découpe de tubes.
  • Maîtrise du français et de l'anglais, à l'oral comme à l'écrit.
  • Solides compétences en matière de leadership, de résolution de problèmes et de communication.
  • Maîtrise des systèmes ERP, de la planification de la production et de la gestion des performances.
  • Volonté et capacité à voyager régulièrement entre Montréal et Plattsburgh.
  • Volonté d'apporter un soutien pratique ; forte présence dans l'atelier.

Are you an operational leader who thrives in a dynamic industrial environment and wants to make a real impact? At SMARDT, a global leader in energy-efficient chiller technology, we are looking for an experienced Plant Manager who will ensure operational excellence, safety, and efficiency at both our Montreal and Plattsburgh plants. We're looking for someone who is willing to drive performance and meet business objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, bilingual (French/English) leader with strong knowledge of the operational requirements related to lead daily plant operations ensuring productivity, safety, and quality targets are met.

Please note that this position is 100% on-site.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of plant operations including production, maintenance, materials, manufacturing, quality control and customer service.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resource use.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs across both sites to evaluate plant performance and implement improvements as needed while ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Support compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements (OSHA, CNESST).
  • Develop leadership capabilities within the operational team and ensure accountability.
  • Hire, train, and supervise plant employees, fostering a productive and safe work environment.
  • Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement.

  • Partner with other departments such as Operations, Production, HR, Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering teams to ensure operational alignment, risk mitigation, and process management for both sites. Resolve any conflicts that may arise.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field (Master's degree MBA, an asset).
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership roles, preferably in metal-mechanical industries.
  • Experience in the HVAC or similar complex assembly industry.
  • Proven track record managing multi-site operations or large production teams.
  • Strong background in operations, materials, and process management.
  • Experience with fabrication processes such as welding, assembly, vacuum, and tube cutting.
  • Fluent in French and English—spoken and written.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, production planning, and performance management.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly between Montréal and Plattsburgh.
  • Willingness to provide hands-on support; strong presence on the shop floor.
