Journeyman Plumber/OBM – Property Operations

Piruqsaijit Ltd is a Property Owner and Management company with residential and commercial properties in Canada's northernmost territory of Nunavut. We are currently seeking a full- time Journeyman Plumber with OBM experience in the Hamlet of Baker Lake.

Duties and responsibilities of the job are:

  • Perform inspections and scheduled maintenance on oil heating systems, including necessary cleaning of all components and parts.

  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning oil burners, their components and controls.

  • Install oil burners and oil burner components such as thermostats, motors, piping and safety devices, and connect to fuel supply, ventilation and electrical systems.

  • Test installed units and adjust controls for proper functioning.

  • Experience of oil burner and glycol applications is a must.

  • Must have strong knowledge with holding tanks and jet pumps.

  • Complete work order forms detailing work performed, and materials used.

  • Assist in inventory and stock control, and compile supply orders.

  • Other duties as required and assigned.

We are looking for following qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to be thorough and pay attention to details.

  • Dependable and have teamwork skills that support a team-based operation.

  • Physical skills like lifting, bending and carrying.

  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols while on the job.

  • Be comfortable working in high-stress environments with extreme weather conditions.

  • Driver's license (preferred)

  • Red Seal Plumber journeyman certification (must have)

  • Minimum of 2 years experience (must have)

Work schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Some evenings and weekends

  • On Call

  • Overtime
