Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations within the restaurant and food service industry. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly by assisting with meal preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall food handling processes.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, and measuring spices.
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients.
  • Follow food safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation are met.
  • Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management of any shortages.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during busy periods.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in food preparation and safety practices.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new cooking methods and recipes.
