about this team
The Mexico Art Director will report into the NA Creative Director and dotted line to Sr. Manager, Mexico Brand Marketing. They will work on leading transcreation for lululemon's Mexico market and will be establishing concept, look & feel, strategy and local messaging of a given project through brainstorms, moodboards and design exploration
They will bring global & NA concepts and assets to life locally—adapting these across activities, mediums and channels, creating a unified experience through lululemon's ecosystem. They localize Global and North America assets and create net new concepts for in-region campaigns.
core responsibilities
- Lead a team to deliver world-class work on Mexico's small to large campaigns with a high level of creative concept, design and exploration of groundbreaking media techniques to raise the bar and drive the creative vision forward
- Lead the transcreation of Global and North America concepts and assets into Mexico's region, adapting creative across channels and touchpoints to ensure cultural relevance, local resonance, and consistency within lululemon's brand ecosystem
- Inspire, lead, and direct a team of a Graphic Designer, Translator, and creative working teams in creative development and channel executions
- Work daily with Mexico Brand Marketing Managers to interpret brand briefs, partner with Brand Management to develop creative strategy, and deliver top-level creative that aligns with the strategy and drives business impact
- Partner with Mexico's channel partners and internal stakeholders to ensure creative work is strong and will deliver in each channel
- Adhering to Globally established Brand Visual Identity and Creative direction across all projects
- Guard the brand, maintaining lululemon's visual language across mediums and channels including Mexico's eComm, digital channels, in-store windows, VM, film, social media, events and advertising
- Oversee occasional photo and film shoots including pre-shoot conceptualising, sourcing and directing photographers and videographers, selecting talent and locations
- Work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that requires flexibility, imagination, a can-do attitude, a sense of fun, and the desire to learn and grow.
- Interpret creative feedback and data into iterative design. A multi-revision process is often part of our work.
- Have a high level of taste and aesthetics, well versed in industry leading trends and creative minds.
qualifications
- 5+ years of experience at a design agency and/or in-house design team.
- Must be well versed in creating for and delivering into social, interactive and emerging platforms
- Proven experience in designing for global brands in digital, print, and environmental with a track record of delivering robust visual design
- Ability to develop ideas from concept to execution utilizing your vast knowledge of strategic branding, retail environments, paid and owned marketing channels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English & Spanish
- Excellent design, typography, and layout skills
- Be creative and bring a fresh perspective while working within the brand and project parameters
- Experience with 3D modeling, illustration, and photoshoot direction is a plus
- Able to translate a large branding idea to multiple touch points in all channels
- Capable of juggling multiple projects within tight deadlines
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, with excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic
- Strong ability to take and interpret cross-functional feedback and refine the work in order to answer it
- Advanced skills in Adobe programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Understanding of After Effects, Keynote, PPT, HTML5, 3D Modeling software, Jira, SmartSheet and Microsoft Office Suite
- Fluency (Written + Verbal) in English and Spanish required

compensation and benefits package
lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $103,500-135,900 CAD annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
