Applied Industrial Technologies is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada. We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Field Service Technician at our Calgary, AB shop location.

This shop-based position will require travel that is anticipated to be approximately 75% of the time, with overnight stays required dependent on business needs. In this role, you'll use existing and new hands-on skills learned to support our customers. Training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in a safe manner, lead by example and contribute to overall company safety
  • Work in a team environment to efficiently achieve a high standard of quality and service to Applied' s extensive customer base
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external customers and team members
  • Ability to maintain cooperative and productive team relationships
  • Work with shop administrator before and after jobs to plan and review
  • Work with leadership to ensure assigned field service vehicles and essential service equipment are properly maintained and utilized.
  • Field Service Duties as an individual or a team may include:
  • Mobilize for the job
  • Travel to customer site
  • Communicating with customers on jobsite
  • Complete scope of work
  • Stay out of town around customers' location for the duration of the job (if required)
  • Return to shop and Demobilize
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Experience troubleshooting Hydraulic systems
  • Journeyman, Apprentice, or similar certified person
  • Hydraulic benchwork repair experience would be an asset
  • A knowledge of basic lubrication systems would be an asset
  • Welding experience/DC wiring experience would be an asset
  • Proven ability to work in team environment
  • Ability to adapt to new surroundings and tasks
  • Work with a common sense approach to the scope of work
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented
  • Ability to read, interpret standards, specifications, and drawings
  • Ability to prioritize several tasks and complete a variety of work assignments within structured and/or critical deadlines
  • Service orientated, ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • The ability to effectively communicate technical findings in writing and verbally.
