Job Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance solutions for complex data pipelines, including ETL/ELT processes
• Partner with platform engineering, application teams, and security stakeholders to build cross environment data delivery services that ensure reliability, scalability, and observability
• Leveraging a deep understanding of the database architecture, employs innovative, fit-for-purpose methods to effectively anticipate and resolve emerging issues and complex technical challenges related to data provisioning and management
• Implement pushdown optimization, partitioning, clustering, replication and change data capture (CDC) strategies

Build Self Service and Automation Frameworks

• Deliver secure, automated, and self-service database capabilities to accelerate data driven teams while ensuring governance and reliability at scale
• Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions for database provisioning and lifecycle management

Modernize Data Protection and Resiliency

• Engineer backup/restore automation, schema migration tools, and high-performance data movement solutions across on prem and cloud environments
• Implement observability and monitoring frameworks for proactive performance tuning

Collaborate with Data Engineering teams

• Partner on Spark based processing, streaming architectures, and data masking solutions
• Enable time travel methods, bulk data movement, and schema evolution for analytics and compliance

Core Technologies:

• Databases: DB2, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, Teradata, Snowflake, MongoDB, Databricks
• Cloud Platforms: AWS (RDS, Aurora), Azure
• Data Tools: Informatica, Talend
• Programming: Python, Java, Shell
• Version Control and CI/CD: Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps
• Monitoring and Observability: Prometheus, Grafana

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a database engineer or DBA with multi-platform expertise
• Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases and data security best practices
• Certifications preferred: AWS/Azure/GCP Data Platform, DB2 DBA, PostgreSQL Professional, SnowPro Advanced Administrator
• Proficiency in Python, Java or Shell scripting for automation and tooling
