We are currently seeking a Software Architect to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario (CA-ON), Canada (CA).

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Application/Software Architect Level 3 to join our team in Canada.

Overview

The Common System for Grants (CSGC) application team is currently engaged in a technical debt remediation

project. The CSGC application needs to conform to accessibility standards for internal applications. To meet this requirement, the web application and database need to be redesigned and developed using modern technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and prepare diagrammatic plans for solution of business, scientific and technical problems by means of computer systems of significant size and complexity.

Analyze the problems outlined by the systems analysts/designers in terms of such factors as style and extent of information to be transferred to and from storage units, variety of items to be processed, extent of sorting, and format of final printed results.

Select and incorporate available software programs.

Design detailed programs, flow charts, and diagrams indicating mathematical computation and sequence of machine operations necessary to copy and process data and print the results.

Translate detailed flow charts into coded machine instructions and confer with technical personnel in planning programs.

Verify accuracy and completeness of programs by preparing sample data and testing them by means of system acceptance test runs made by operating personnel.

Correct program errors by revising instructions or altering the sequence of operations.

Test instructions, and assemble specifications, flow charts, diagrams, layouts, programming and operating instructions to document applications for later modification or reference.

UI/UX design of web screens and reports.

Documented the business and functional specifications for all screens and reports (ADO Wiki).

Database modelling and data migration for 400 tables.

Designed and created the solution structure and utilities (MVC Web - Onion architecture, C#, Entity framework, Fluent validation, Auto mapper, TypeScript, etc.)

Documented all developer standards and guidelines. (ADO wiki)

Code review and publishing of all code changes (Pull requests).

Managing the branching and release of all code repositories.

Administration of the ADO - creating area and iteration paths; defining the sprint cycles; creating user groups and assigning access; defining the dashboards and backlog boards, etc.

Coordinating with the Application testing group managing new bugs and issues.

Creating the ADO ticket backlog for all Epics, Features, User stories, Tasks, and other work items.

Coordinating with external teams to design and implement APIs.

Designing and implementing scheduled database jobs.

Designing and implementing the application security policies.

Mentoring and training employees and contractors.

Essential Technology Requirments:

Azure DevOps (ADO)

Web Experience Toolkit

MVC Web - Onion Architecture

C# and .NET Framework

Entity Framework

Fluent Validation

AutoMapper

TypeScript

Knowledge and recent experience of ESDC Common System for Grants and Contributions System.

Mandatory Qualifications:

10+ years of recent experience working as Senior Software Architect. Application Architect or similar.

3+ years of recent experience with Azure DevOps (ADO).

3+ years of recent experience working with tools/technologies, such as .NET, C#, MVC Web - Onion Architecture, Web Experience Toolkit, Entity Framework, Fluent Validation, AutoMapper and TypeScript.

Must have experience with ESDC Common System for Grants and Contributions Online Services (GCOS).

Must currently hold a valid Reliability Security Clearance.

Must have a University Degree or College/CEGEP Diploma related to Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or similar from a recognized post-secondary institution.
