The George Hull Centre is seeking a Senior Clinician to join our experienced and versatile Community Clinic Team. We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced professional to provide comprehensive clinical services for children, youth, and their families. The children and youth often have varied and complex presentations that may include trauma, multiple placements, family conflict, difficulties in school and in the community, and suffer from emotional, behavioural and psychiatric difficulties. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with children of all ages and their families, including those in our Day Treatment and Intensive In-Home programs, using a variety of therapeutic modalities. In addition, the Senior Clinician will take on Special Projects/Assignments under the direction of and in collaboration with the Team Manager and Director, which may include but not be limited to: supporting the continued development, clinical leadership and sustainability of a clinical model or focus at the Centre; onboarding of clinicians as well as mentorship for and co-therapy with clinicians; taking on a project manager role on various projects; liaising with outside experts and participation on relevant external community committees/groups; liaising with and being the point person for other client-facing departments in the Centre; monitoring and supporting evaluation efforts.

The George Hull Centre is a multi-disciplinary and multi-faceted agency offering collaboration and program development with the Research and Evaluation Department, the Institute of Childhood Trauma and Attachment, Speech & Language Department, Prevention and Early Intervention Services, Psychiatry and Intensive Services.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· To provide initial consultations to families to assist them in identifying needs and locating appropriate services

· To provide comprehensive outpatient clinical assessment and treatment of children and youth with an emphasis on family treatment using evidence-based treatment models

· To deliver evidence-based group programs and workshops to children, youth and their parents

· To provide client centred case management and service coordination to ensure timely and coordinated care

· To provide clinical leadership and carry out Special Projects/Assignments as referenced above

· To collaborate with multidisciplinary staff and utilize consultation as appropriate to support assessment, treatment planning, and implementation

· To advocate for clients and work collaboratively with community partners to coordinate and integrate services

· To participate in team, staff, and supervision meetings regularly

· To maintain all records and reports as required by the Centre's policies and procedures

· To provide services flexibly in a broad variety of locations including office, school, family homes and community settings, as well as via virtual platforms

· To contribute to program development initiatives within the team and across programs

· To provide direct service hours consistent with agency requirements

· To ensure the regular and timely recording of data as per agency and funder requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Master's degree in Social Work or Psychology (or equivalent) with a minimum of 7 years' post-graduate supervised experience in children's mental health and in family therapy

· Certification with the Ontario College of Social Workers or Equivalent

· Excellent clinical skills in assessment, formulation, and treatment

· Knowledge and experience in family therapy, systems theory, group work theory, child development, and trauma informed practice is desirable

· Expertise in evidence-based clinical interventions for children and families such as CBT, TF-CBT (and other trauma informed practices), DBT, and Attachment and Relational therapies would be considered assets.

· Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent administrative and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and Clinician job requirements, and proven dedication to continuing education/professional development and clinical education of staff and students

· Proven experience and capacity providing supportive formal and/or informal clinical leadership

· Sound judgment, sensitivity, flexibility and initiative for engaging and working with families, individuals, groups and colleagues

· Ability to work independently and as a member of the multidisciplinary team

· Commitment to ending anti-Black racism and to ongoing learning and practice in anti-oppression

· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple service providers in coordinating and planning services

· Keyboarding skills and working knowledge of relevant software is required (e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

· Experience working remotely and on virtual platforms such as Zoom and Teams

· Knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to children's mental health

· A valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle for work

· A second language would be an asset
