If this sounds like the place where you would like to grow your career, we are currently seeking a Junior Estimator to join our team in Campbell River. This is a technical and administrative role that is focused on supporting the project managers, estimating team and project accountants to produce budgets via various means while also assisting in forecasting and project finance draws.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Project Managers in coordinating and analyzing project budgets;
  • Assist with preparing forecasts and other financial reports;
  • Assist Project Accountants with managing cashflows for development projects;
  • Monitoring project expenses and budgets through the life cycle of project;
  • Analyzing data and presenting results and recommendations clearly & concisely;
  • Participating in ad hoc projects related to various aspects of the business;
  • Analyze construction drawings and specifications.
  • Learn to provide clear detailed quantity takeoffs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Real Estate accounting; project/construction accounting;
  • Understand reading and interpretation of construction drawings and specifications;
  • Bachelor's Degree, or relevant diploma / work experience to be considered;
  • Experience working with trades or general contractor;
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Office and Excel; and experience with using an ERP system;
  • Ability to adapt and demonstrate resiliency in response to changing work demands;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment;
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a results-oriented approach;
  • Attention to detail with the ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy;
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and utilize planning & time management skills to adhere to strict deadlines;
  • A high degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
